What is your gutter cleaning process?
Cleaning gutters is a simple task, although there are some techniques that are superior to others. Some companies elect to quickly clear gutters out with a leaf blower or a pressure washer.
However, this method can potentially damage the gutters and can also make a huge mess by blowing leaves and dirt all over the house and yard. Therefore, we prefer the old-fashioned approach of putting up a ladder and clearing your gutters out by hand and with a few specialized tools.
We put supports on our ladders so they won’t rub against your gutters. We will collect everything clogging your gutters, deposit all the debris into a bucket, and dump everything we have collected into waste bags which we will take with us when we leave. Finally, we will rinse out your gutters and downspouts to ensure everything is clear. Nothing gets on your house or left on your lawn.
Can you remove the black streaks on the outside of gutters?
Yes! Those black streaks are also known as “tiger stripes,” and they are not an organic stain like mold or mildew but an inorganic stain that is a result of a chemical reaction between asphalt shingles and aluminum gutters. It will require a specialized soap to remove. Because of that, we do charge an extra fee for removing “tiger stripes” from your gutters.
How often should I get my gutters cleaned?
Optimally, gutters should be cleaned at least twice a year.
